The mission of the Lowndes County Accountability Court is to enhance public safety and build stronger families and communities by focusing resources towards treatment of the substance abuse offender.  The goal of the Accountability Court is to reduce costs, reduce crime rates, and hold individual participants accountable, while providing them with a means to become productive, law abiding citizens.


About Us

The Lowndes  County           Accountability Court Staff consists of the Superior Court Judge, the District Attorney, the Public Defender, a Probation Officer, the Coordinator for the Court, Treatment Providers, Law                         Enforcement Representative and Program Evaluator.  The Superior Court Judge heads the staff who work together to support and monitor a participant's recovery.  Each member maintains a balance of authority, supervision, support and encouragement. up-to-date technologies.


Accountability Courts          integrate alcohol and other drug treatment services with justice system case processing.  Forging               partnerships among drug courts, public agencies and community-based organizations generates        local support and enhances court program                          effectiveness.
